New way to be.....

Every Christian life has one thing in common. Change. Why is that? Because as humans, people aren’t perfect. Face it, humanity is screwed up. That is why so many people are becoming so desperate for meaning and fulfillment in their lives. But God is all about change. He made us one specific way, and the Christian walk is about trying to find out how to finally achieve that persona or ideal mentality. Despite the fact that change is God’s most powerful element in our lives transforming humans from sad, miserable, hopeless individuals into happy, joyful, encouraging leaders it’s also the most challenging aspect of the Christian life. Why? Because humans are naturally sinful, naturally selfish, naturally want to be in control, naturally want to make ourselves happy. However, that’s not what God intended at all. Life is not about making ourselves happy, or doing what we want to do. It’s about investing in others, about making other people happy, and the only way to do that is to learn from God’s example. This investment in others, this desire to focus not on ourselves but on what is important is called love. Love is God and God is love. It’s that simple. Read 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8. That is a sweet passage on what love truly is. However, when you substitute the world “love” with the word “Jesus” it becomes even more meaningful, because through our human limitations it shows up really how important the Lord is to His creation. He completes His creation.
Dissecting scripture is the only way to figure out how to change. God will clearly show you what you need to do in order to change through His Word. Jesus called it the “bread of life.” Eat it, digest it, feast on it; So that you can “taste and see that the Lord is good.” Sometimes it will require a lot of prayer, getting on your knees, pleading and begging God, crying even. It may even require doing things you don’t desire to: like apologizing, forgiving, learning to trust other people or God, becoming vulnerable. Nevertheless, the good news is all these hardships contribute to character and a much more fulfilling life than before. When God comes in and makes those changes, He takes away the fear, the pain, the emotional anguish, and brings peace, stability, and security making life complete. He turns something gross and painful into something beautiful and exciting. The following verse should give you hope about your life.
"For I know the plans I have for you,"
declares the LORD,
plans to prosper you and
not to harm you, plans to give you hope
and a future." --Jeremiah 29:11
God is good. All the time. A God who “plans to give you hope and a future” is a god worth living for. What more could a human ask for? Do you really want a second chance at life or a relationship with a God who makes your life better through a personal connection beyond anything else? If you get a second chance there is always the chance of messing up again.
I pray so hard that God would change me. I find when I give Him specifics and open up to Him telling Him my faults and problems that I become more aware of my issues and I desire to change even more. I begin to see other people in a different light, and desire to help them out. I also find myself renewing my mind and even pushing out thoughts that I normally would give in to. I begin to protect myself, I learn to love myself, not selfishly but as a child of God realizing that I am worth it, no matter what other people think. Love is powerful, it changes lives, literally. But most importantly “it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. It never fails.”
