Fear and Slavery

I'm sorry that i haven't been readily posting new blogs everyday. I post when I feel like it and some days I feel like it, but then get distracted. Right now I am going to talk about Fear and how it plays a significant role in our lives.

Fear is living in dread or apprehension because something makes us feel uncomfortable. Most of us have some kind of fear whether it be clowns or snakes or spiders or something very paranormal or something like cancer. Whatever it may be fear is very common in our daily lives. Now the origin of Fear is from the Fall and a product of the Devil who uses our imaginations and comforts to work against us. He tells us that this Fear(whatever it may be) will keep us from ever becoming the person that God wants us to be. That we are going to be held back because it is impossible to overcome and thus we should just give up because we are not good enough or strong enough. But I tell you that fear is the Devil's greatest weapon, because when we are fearful, we are vulnerable and now he can manipulate us in any way he wants. When you give in to fear you become a slave to it and ultimately a slave to the Devil. First off. why would you want to be enslaved at all? Don't you see that Fear is of no help to you at all? That's why God says in Joshua 1:8-9 that we should be "Strong and Courageous" which is the total opposite of fear. Showing courage is standing against fear and facing it. Luke 12:5 says who we should fear " But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." As Christians we should fear God only otherwise we are cheating ourselves because the only thing that can hurt us is God. What about poisons or animals or weapons? Can't they hurt us? Well I pose this question: Can't God cure or save us? Now the question becomes a matter of faith and trust in God. Think about this question proposed in Romans 8:31 "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Ponder this idea. If God is on your side then who can be your enemy? No one, not even the Devil. Not a single person or thing can hurt you if God is on your side, so why should you fear at all? I pose this question to you, the reader: Is Fear enslaving you? Or are you aware that God wants you to be confident in all that you do because He is there by your side in everything that you do. Don't let Fear take control of your life, you can be confident because God is on your side.
